LSSI is hiring a Group Home Head Nurse/RN Trainer (Contract Only), to maintain excellent oversight of the client's healthcare including training of direct support personnel and follow DHS requirements.

Salary

  • This is a 1099 contract position (indefinite end date)
  • $30-32/hourly

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure Rule 116 is followed at all sites.
  • Provide supervision and training to RN Nurse Trainers on Rule 115 and 116.
  • Assist with and be knowledgeable of general health status of residents.
  • Review, track and participate in Quality Assurance for all medication errors.
  • Audit sites for compliance of Rule 115 and 116.
  • Review and update policies and procedures of LSSI and DHS/DDD.
  • On call availability for consultation.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.

Additional Functions/Responsibilities

  • Ensure a workplace where employees are engaged, their dignity is valued, and they have a sense of belonging both within their specific role and within the organization overall.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences of clients, coworkers, and community.
  • Maintain and review all records for initial and annual Mediation Administration training for staff.
  • Ensure MARS have all appropriate information monthly.
  • Monitor HRST to ensure compliance.
  • Provide RN Nurse Trainer backup services to sites when site RN is not available.
  • Consult program management with regard to delivery of medical services.
  • Communicate with outside vendors to ensure clients receive needed care.
  • Provide leadership and training as needed to nurses and direct service personnel.
  • Ensure sites are compliant with Settings Rule regarding healthcare and medications.
  • Provide consultation and training to SDS programs (Home Care and Housing) for care plan review as needed.
  • Provide CPR training as needed.
  • Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner; including but not limited to inquires received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
  • Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information as well as ensuring the security of all LSSI systems is maintained.
  • Responsible for completing all required training assignments as well as complying with the related organizational, administrative, and programmatic.

Position Qualifications

  • Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.

Professional Licensure/Certifications

  • Background check clearance required.
  • Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical professional experience within the past five (5) years required.
  • Ability to become and RN Nurse Trainer through DDD required.
  • Experience working with individuals with development disabilities preferred.
  • Experience providing leadership and training to nursing and direct care personnel preferred.
  • Participation in ongoing learning opportunities to keep skills current required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization sills and basic pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software required.

Other Requirements

Driving Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.

Auto Insurance

  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required
