Overview

This course will provide an overview of the types of human trafficking and the healthcare professionals role in recognition and prevention.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn to identify and recognize a victim of Human Trafficking in Healthcare settings
  • Identify Risk Factors/Vulnerabilities of Human Trafficking Victims intersecting with technology
  • Expose misconceptions of Human Trafficking and illuminate the prevalence of Familial Trafficking in Kentucky 
  • Identify techniques to interact with a victim of human trafficking and intervention strategies using a
    intervention strategies using a multidisciplinary approach

Executive Director

• Dominic Gordon, Executive Director of One Bridge to Hope, Residential Home for Sex Trafficked Adolescent Survivors has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Counseling from Lindsey Wilson University and TCADC. She is an ordained chaplain, her family has traveled to 36 countries for Humanitarian Service Projects. Ms. Gordon has 28 years of teaching in both public and private schools. She is a trained facilitator for Not a Number from Love146, approved Serious Mental Illness Targeted Case Management provider and has completed Foster Care training. She is a compassionate advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and helping them thrive after leaving One Bridge.
